The Central Bank of Iraq is Series About Digital Platform: KRG Gets Digital Platform for Payments
KRG Introduces Digital Payment System for Government Services
The Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) has rolled out a new digital payments platform called e-Psule, marking a major step toward modernising how government receipts are issued and processed. The system is part of the KRG’s broader effort to move away from cash-based, paper-driven procedures toward more efficient, transparent digital services.(iraq-businessnews.com)
Officially approved by the Central Bank of Iraq (CBI), e-Psule offers citizens across the Kurdistan Region access to government payment receipts at any time, eliminating the need to visit government offices in person. The platform is initially focused on facilitating payments like electricity bills but is designed to support other government services over time.(iraq-businessnews.com)
Importantly, the service is free of charge, and users are not charged any extra fees or commissions when making payments through the platform or through its approved partners.(iraq-businessnews.com)
Key features of the e-Psule system include:
User control – Payments are made only with the explicit consent of the user, with no automatic deductions from salaries or bank accounts.
Clear digital receipts – Receipts display a breakdown of outstanding balances and current charges for full transparency.
Multiple payment options – Users can pay through the e-Psule app itself, via authorized e-wallets such as FastPay, AsiaPay and NassWallet, or through participating banks including FIB and Cihan Bank.(iraq-businessnews.com)
The platform is intended to enhance financial transparency, boost efficiency in public services, and support the KRG’s digital transformation agenda.(iraq-businessnews.com)
