Iraqi Prime Minister allocation of $4 billion in 2023 to address poverty

Announcing the allocation of $ 4 billion in 2023 to address poverty, Prime Minister Mohamed Shia Al-Sudani noted that cash subsidies are available for school and college students and children of poor families in an effort to prevent the inheritance of poverty.

Al-Sudani said during his press interview with The National newspaper, according to a statement issued by his media office received by "Economy News": "We put forward a vision for partnerships with the countries of the region through the path of development, which is the first time that a project calls for such partnerships."

"Among the projects offered in the region, the development road project has the best route, lowest cost of transportation, and achieves the purpose of facilitating trade between Asia and Europe."

Having talked about sectarianism, ethnicity, and components, all political forces are currently talking about providing services and developing the economy.

The Prime Minister added that "the Social Protection Law addresses multidimensional poverty, and $ 4 billion has been allocated in 2023 to address poverty, and there are cash subsidies for school and college students and children of poor families to prevent inheritance of poverty." He stressed that "ration cards are provided to the general public in a certain quality, while a higher quality card is distributed to those under social protection."

He pointed out that "the treatments included in the three-year budget for the state of poverty, are capable of ending poverty rates in Iraq radically within five years," adding that: "The public sector cannot be supported without our support, and a meeting of the Council of Ministers or the Ministerial Council of Economy is not without this decision."

According to him, "There is a war on corruption, and we have implemented a systematic policy to fight corruption, and we have introduced reforms in taxation, customs, and electronic payments, all of which create an environment that attracts and facilitates the private sector."

"The price of the dollar is dependent on the special reforms in the banking and financial sectors, and the government began implementing these reforms despite the social costs involved, and that exchange rate fluctuations are the result of a battle between a group that used to live on the dollar and the government that wants to install the correct transactions."

"Illegal outlets bring goods in without paying taxes, which goes toward the parallel price," he said.

He explained that the political forces that form the government have confidence in the course of the government and the implementation of its government program," adding that "the Baghdad conference will be expanded based on requests from the United Kingdom, Germany, Spain, and Italy to attend."
