You Should Know: US forces have been making large-scale movement in Iraq - There is an explanation

 

Washington sent word to Iraq via the US Ambassador to Iraq that large-scale movements that US forces have been making in Iraq in recent weeks are part of the exchange of existing forces. 

Just so you know, US forces are not only being sent as replacements and support for NATO in Europe, but the US military has been making large-scale movements in and around the Iraqi and Syrian borders. 

In other military news, Maj. According to the US military, Gen. Joel 'JB' Vowell assumed command of Operation Inherent Resolve on Thursday.

In Baghdad, Iraq, CENTCOM head General Michael Kurilla attended the ceremony to transfer authority from Maj. Gen. Matthew McFarlane to Vowell.

Kurilla commended Kurilla's leadership during this period of complex challenges and changes. "You managed more risk on a daily basis than any other commander in the joint force," he said.
