Iraqi PM shares White House Agenda Before Departing for Washington


During his visit, Sudani plans to discuss regional dynamics and tensions with US President Joe Biden, focusing on collaborative efforts to de-escalate conflicts.


Biden and Sudani will also discuss the joint efforts of the Iraqi High Military Committee and the international coalition, aiming to establish a timeline for completing the coalition's mission.


He revealed plans to meet with key US officials, including the Secretary of Defense, Treasury Secretary, National Security Advisor, and US Chamber of Commerce representatives and oil and gas industry executives.


Prime Minister Sudani visits Washington for the first time as the U.S. seeks to broaden ties with Iraq


The visit underscores our commitment to a long-term strategic partnership based on mutual respect and safeguarding the security and sovereignty of Iraqi territory.


A delegation of government ministers, legislators, advisors, and private sector representatives accompanied Sudani to discuss cooperation in various sectors, such as education and security.


Sudani announced that the visit would include the inaugural meeting of the Joint High Committee for Coordination, aimed at activating strategic agreements across multiple domains, including energy, finance, banking, transportation, anticorruption efforts, and repatriation of Iraqi assets.


The forthcoming discussions between Iraqi and US officials will allow for collaboratively addressing bilateral cooperation and regional challenges.
