Jordan, Iraq, Egypt meetup at UN General Assembly agree to complete tripartite projects
Ayman Safadi, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Minister of Expatriates, attended a tripartite meeting with his Iraqi and Egyptian counterparts, Fuad Hussein and Sameh Shukri, on the sidelines of the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly.
According to the joint statement released on Sunday, the meeting was held to cement the partnership between the three countries and to implement the tripartite cooperation mechanism.
As a result of a tripartite summit held in Baghdad in June 2021, the ministers discussed ways to activate economic and political cooperation.
As well as completing the proposed projects, they emphasized the importance of putting forward new ideas and projects in electrical connections, renewable energy, communications, trade, industry, transportation, health, pharmaceuticals, housing, and reconstruction.
They also discussed culture, tourism, youth, sports, security, and defense.
In addition to discussing the situation in the region, the ministers also touched on several topics, including the Palestinian cause and the restoration of inalienable Palestinian rights.
A solution to the Syrian crisis was also discussed, especially through the Arab Ministerial Contact Group, aimed at serving the interests of the Syrian people.
The three foreign ministers agreed to continue coordination in preparation for an upcoming tripartite summit in Cairo.
