Iraq Electronic Payment; Corruption will be reduced, e-government will be activated
As a result of the implementation of Prime Minister Eng's directives, the Association of Iraqi Private Banks has reported a significant improvement in the use of electronic payment tools. Since June 1, Muhammad Shia Al-Sudani has published them in all ministries and government institutions.
According to Tariq, 337 government ministries and institutions have contracted with electronic payment companies and deployed points of sale.
Additionally, he mentioned that there has been a 123% increase in points of sale since the Council of Ministers' decision. The initial count of 10,718 devices has now grown to 23,906,19696 locations, with 4,210 in stores and private institutions and 56 in ministries and government institutions. He emphasized that there have been approximately 15.403 million financial transactions made through these points of sale, including <> million for the private sector and <>.<> thousand for government institutions since the implementation of the decision.
By promoting financial inclusion and increasing confidence between citizens and the banking sector, Tariq concluded his speech by saying that electronic payment is the most important step towards reforming the economy. As a result, deposits will increase, banks will be able to finance strategic projects more effectively, and by completing citizens' transactions remotely, corruption will be reduced, and e-government will be activated.
