Good News: Iraq Added New Power Source w/250 Megawatts Capacity
According to media reports, Iraq has switched on additional power plants to ramp up its current power generation capacity.
According to the Iraqi News Agency (INA), the two add-on power plants with a combined capacity of 250 megawatts are located in Maysan governorate in south-eastern Iraq.
The project is anticipated to significantly reduce the Iraqi government's gas import expenditures.
Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani, Iraq's Prime Minister, said the government had signed contracts to produce 1140 megawatts of electric power from combined cycle plants.
It is the little steps that make up for larger results. Electricity has been a major crisis for a long-time. We are happy that Iraq is moving forward and becoming more self-sufficient. Eliminating the electricity problem for the people of Iraq and the security issue for International investors is on the path to a higher currency value.
